Rosemary mint hair oil is all the rage lately (with brands like Mielle making waves all over social media), but we've long been aware of the potential benefits of rosemary and mint for the hair and scalp!
- Rosemary essential oil is believed to stimulate hair follicles and improve blood circulation to the scalp, which may promote hair growth and health.
- Mint essential oil can have a cooling effect on the scalp to help soothe irritation and reduce itchiness.
- Both are rich in antioxidants and have moisturizing properties that can help nourish and condition the hair.
Our quirky formulation has a blend of good-for-hair oils, nourishing vitamin E, and rosemary and peppermint essential oils.
Ingredients: apricot kernel oil, castor oil, sweet almond oil, argan oil, jojoba oil, avocado oil, vitamin E, rosemary essential oil, and peppermint essential oil.
1 oz (30ml) in a glass dropper bottle
How to use:
Start with using the hair oil once per week. Increase or decrease the frequency based on how dry or oily your hair is. In general, dry hair will benefit from hair oil more often, where oily hair may feel "weighed down" if used more often.
For normal to dry hair: start with 2-3 drops. Rub across your fingertips then massage the oil into your scalp and/or into the lengths and ends of your damp or dry hair. Leave in and style as usual.
For normal to oily hair: start with 1-2 drops. You may want to skip your scalp if you tend to have an oily scalp. Rub across your fingertips then run through the ends of your damp or dry hair. Leave in and style as usual.
If you find that leaving hair oil in your hair feels too heavy, try using less, or wear it as a treatment instead. After shampooing and rinsing, apply to scalp and/or hair, wait at least 5 minutes, then rinse out.
Shelly uses a dropper-full of hair oil daily in the winter and every other day the rest of the year; she has very dry skin, dry scalp, and dry hair. Note that it can take a few hours for your hair to absorb the oil, so what might feel like too much immediately can feel perfect a few hours later. Experiment to find your perfect amount and frequency.
If irritation occurs, wash off and discontinue use.
